"i have always had a "thing" for pears. i refer to them often in my work. i love their shapes and their colors. and though i love pear flavor, i can only eat a very firm but juicy pear, which means the window of opportunity of pear consuming for me is very small. i'll buy what i think is the perfect pear at the market, and by the time i get it home, it is too mushy for me to eat. but i do enjoy fake pear flavoring . . . and an asian pear is almost always perfect." -Rae Dunn
From our Rae Dunn Boutique Collection
Crafted by hand, you'll notice our stoneware and ceramic pieces each have a unique, imperfect look. This includes dimples in the claywork, minor imperfections in the ceramic glazing, and imperfect shapes. This piece is true to the artist's style; strongly influenced by the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete.
