Did you know? The chocolate chip cookie was invented by American chefs Ruth Graves Wakefield and Sue Brides in 1938 at the Toll House Inn, in Whitman, Massachusetts. In this era, the Toll House Inn was a popular restaurant that featured home cooking. They collaborated with Nestlé to print the recipe on the cover of all their semi-sweet chocolate bars; in return, she would get a lifetime supply of chocolate. What a sweet deal!
From our Rae Dunn Artisan Collection:
You'll notice our stoneware and ceramic pieces will have a handcrafted, imperfect look. This includes dimples in the claywork, minor imperfections in the ceramic glazing, and imperfect shapes. This piece is true to the artist's style; strongly influenced by the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete.
